Coach James Bibbs Youth Track & Field Invitational Coach James Bibbs Youth Track & Field InvitationalThe Lightning Lynx Track Club is organized for the charitable and educational purpose of providing instruction, recreation, and competition in track and field athletics in Mid-Michigan and the surrounding areas.
The mission of the Lightning Lynx Track Club is to provide instruction, competition and recreation in track and field athletics for youth and families in Mid-Michigan and surrounding areas. The fundamental concepts that will be promoted by the club through its activities are family involvement, integrity, good sportsmanship, athletic excellence, academic excellence, health and fitness, personal development, community service, respect for oneself and others, and personal discipline.
Organizational Structure
The Lightning Lynx Track Club is directed by a Board of Directors composed of 11 individuals elected in accordance with the By-Laws. The Board includes five club officers: President, Vice President, Recording Secretary, Financial Secretary, and Treasurer. The other board members are: two (2) Coach Representatives, three (3) Members at Large, and a Public Member. The Board is responsible for the operation of all aspects of the club and the standards and procedures regulating the conduct of athletes, coaches and members.
Youth athletes may register with the Lightning Lynx Track Club by paying the athlete registration fees established by the Board of Directors. To be eligible, youth must meet the following conditions:
• Youth ages 7 – 18 who is the son, daughter, or dependent of a Lightning Lynx Track Club member
• Enrolled in elementary or secondary school or a participant in a home school program
• Good academic standing
• Positive school citizenship record
• Provide documentation of annual physical
• Demonstrate good sportsmanship, respect for others, a willingness to learn, and good citizenship.
Athlete Registration Fees
Youth athletes must pay a registration fee to participate with the Lightning Lynx Track Club. Each youth athlete is required to become a member of the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) for insurance purposes. The LLTC athlete fee includes AAU dues, LLTC official uniform, t-shirt, and trophy.
